Microsoft has announced that the mainstream support for AX 2009 and AX 2012 will end soon. All Microsoft products have a lifecycle that begins when the product is released and ends it’s no longer supported. Dynamics AX products are normally supported for 10 years from the release date.
What are the End Dates?
Dynamics AX 2009, AX 2012, AX 2012 R2
– Mainstream support ended on 9 Oct, 2018 with extended support ended on 12 Apr, 2022
Dynamics AX 2012 R3
– Mainstream support ended on 12 Oct, 2021 with extended support ended on Jan 10, 2023
What does the end of Mainstream Support mean for me?
The end of mainstream support means that Microsoft will no longer enhance that product. Security updates and non-security hotfixes will no longer be supplied, and the warranty claims will end.
After the mainstream support, only security hotfixes will continue to be provided through the extended support period.
Customers are advised to upgrade to the latest version of finance and operations apps, such as Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, and Project Operations.
